Acts 12:12-14
Peter Goes to John Mark's House
12 When this had dawned on him, he went to the house of Mary the mother of John, also called Mark, where many people had gathered and were praying. 13 Peter knocked at the outer entrance, and a servant named Rhoda came to answer the door. 14 When she recognized Peter’s voice, she was so overjoyed she ran back without opening it and exclaimed, “Peter is at the door!”
Acts 13:4-5
On Cyprus
4 The two of them, sent on their way by the Holy Spirit, went down to Seleucia and sailed from there to Cyprus. 5 When they arrived at Salamis, they proclaimed the word of God in the Jewish synagogues. John was with them as their helper.
Acts 13:13

Acts 15:36-41
Disagreement Between Paul and Barnabas
36 Some time later Paul said to Barnabas, “Let us go back and visit the believers in all the towns where we preached the word of the Lord and see how they are doing.” 37 Barnabas wanted to take John, also called Mark, with them, 38 but Paul did not think it wise to take him, because he had deserted them in Pamphylia and had not continued with them in the work. 39 They had such a sharp disagreement that they parted company. Barnabas took Mark and sailed for Cyprus, 40 but Paul chose Silas and left, commended by the believers to the grace of the Lord. 41 He went through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the churches.
2 Timothy 4:11-12
Paul Calls for John Mark
11 Only Luke is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you, because he is helpful to me in my ministry.
These are some great verses tying John Mark to the other great leaders of the early church...St. Mark knows St. Peter, St. Paul, and St. Barnabas...John Mark also was a nephew of Barnabas (Colossians 4:12)...Since Peter was one of Jesus' disciples, Mark would know that Jesus taught Peter, Mark, Paul, Barnabas, and all of us, in His last command, to love one another (John 13:34)...Jesus said by loving one another, other people would know that they were His disciples and apostles...Jesus also taught us much on forgiveness...Paul, Barnabas, Peter, and John Mark would know all about love and forgiveness because of Peter being Jesus disciple, and them knowing their Master's teachings...But these great Christians did not always agree on everything...This was true even when they are working for their Master...
John Mark was also called Mark...He wrote the Gospel According to Mark...John Mark knew personally St. Peter...St. Peter went to Mark's home after an angel released Peter after an arrest...Peter was arrested by Herod to persecute him...John Mark also traveled with Paul and Barnabas on their missionary trip to and around Cyprus...After the missionaries left Cyprus they went to Perga in Pamphylia...John Mark left Paul and Barnabas there, in Pamphylia...We are not told why John Mark left...Paul did not agree with John Mark leaving them and going home to Jerusalem...This disagreement is made clear to us (later) when Paul and Barnabas are ready to go on their next missionary journey, and Barnabas wants to take John Mark...Paul reminds Barnabas how Mark had left them in Pamphylia...Paul and Barnabas have such a sharp disagreement on taking Mark that the two part company...Paul takes Silas and goes on to Syria and Cecilia...Barnabas takes John Mark and goes to Cyprus...
Later when St. Paul is writing Timothy, he speaks of John Mark and wants Timothy to get Mark and bring him, because he is helpful to Paul in his ministry...Any disagreements they have had, they have forgiven each other and are working together for Jesus...The early church would have difficulties, and even have sharp disagreements...But we must learn this from John Mark, Paul, and Barnabas that we can have sharp disagreements and forgive each other, and love each other...Disagreements are only speed bumps between those who love each other...Christians know how to forgive and love...
Pride, our own wants and selfishness, and our tempers can get in the way and make us drift from Jesus' teachings...We must be alert to this...We must pray without ceasing to be able to forgive, and to keep relationships going...Jesus knows man and knows we will have disagreements with each other...This is why He teaches those that forgive little, loves little (Luke 7:47)...We are to forgive others seventy times seven (Matthew 18:22)...
