Mark 12:27
God is the Living God
27 He is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You are badly mistaken!
Matthew 13:44-46
The Parables of the Hidden Treasure and the Pearl
44 “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.
45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. 46 When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.
Acts 17:22-31
God Is Not Far Away
22 Paul then stood up in the meeting of the Areopagus and said: “People of Athens! I see that in every way you are very religious. 23 For as I walked around and looked carefully at your objects of worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: to an unknown god. So you are ignorant of the very thing you worship—and this is what I am going to proclaim to you.
24 “The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. 25 And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else. 26 From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. 27 God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. 28 ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’
29 “Therefore since we are God’s offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone—an image made by human design and skill. 30 In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent. 31 For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead.”
Matthew 1:23
God is With Us
23 "The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" (which means "God with us").
Some things, often great things seem elusive to us and seem to be hidden...Since God is LOVE then LOVE at times hides...Sometimes, the things we need and want are right near our mind's eye, and so close to us...Is it possible, we happen on to great things and great times through others and different things and miss the greatness of God and His Son?...Sometimes as we read and seek God, does He seem so close, but also so far away?...
Jesus teaches us that God is not the God of the dead, but of the living...And Jesus teaches us too, that some great things seem to be hidden, yet are so close to us...Some things that we do search for diligently, somehow we are able to find them...Sometimes we even stumble on something we are searching for and only then do we see its great value...Sometimes we are searching for things and when we do find it it is of greater value than what we expected, like the one pearl is His parable...On the surface of things, some of the things that we want and seek -what we see and think about (even though we are seeing and thinking about it), we often miss its true value...Everyday we do things, so routinely that often our minds get preoccupied with yesterday's thoughts or tomorrow's thoughts and we can miss much of today...We can only see God and His Son in the present moment, in this current moment...And that the living people are His God...
For those who believe in Jesus knows He constantly taught about the Kingdom of Heaven, when He was on earth...We have an idea about it, but we are so preoccupied with our thoughts about work, our next project, other things, or something that needs to be done...We sometimes miss the teaching of how great the Kingdom of Heaven is and how valuable it actually is to us...Jesus teaches us the eternities, and the eternal is about the Spiritual, and the Kingdom of Heaven...Jesus teaches that to be in the presence of the Kingdom of Heaven is something grand, a real and true treasure...That the Presence of God and the Spiritual is both in the current and in the future...
St. Paul teaches us that God is not far away from any of us...And when Jesus was born, He is also called Immanuel , which means God with us...Jesus and St. Paul teach us about God being near us, and the great and grand Kingdom of Heaven...So whether or not we notice it or do not think about it, God is near and not far away from any one of us...Let us continue our search, to find and keep Him near us...
