Matthew 9:9-13
Jesus Came for Sinners
9 As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector's booth. "Follow me," he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him.
10 While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew's house, many tax collectors and "sinners" came and ate with him and his disciples. 11 When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and 'sinners'?"
12 On hearing this, Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 13 But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.' For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."
Acts 4:12
Salvation is Found Only in Jesus
12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."
As I read the gospels and read the stories about Jesus helping people and His teachings very helpful in better understanding both Him and God...He wasn't One who turned people away when they were in need...He helped them, no matter if they were rich or poor or if they were sinners...And we all are sinners...So Jesus dwelt among us helping us who sinned...So He literally was surrounded by sinners as He walked and talked in Israel...
Jesus came to earth for many reasons...He said He came to testify to the Truth...He came to teach about God...He taught much through His Parables...He said He came to set us free...But what stands out for me, is that He came to earth to call upon us sinners and to save us sinners...A Divine Man, who did not sin Himself, came to earth to save sinners...
Jesus is full of Grace, Humility, a Great amount of forgiveness, mercy, and LOVE...
