Acts 5:30
Jesus Was Hung on a Cross
30 The God of our ancestors raised Jesus from the dead--whom you killed by hanging him on a cross.
Mark 12:28-33
Love God and Love Your Neighbor
28 One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?”
29 “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.[e] 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’[f] 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”
32 “Well said, teacher,” the man replied. “You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him. 33 To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.”
John 14:6
Jesus is the Way
6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
St. Peter says the God of our ancestors raised Jesus from the dead--whom you killed by hanging Him on a cross...Jesus was different and taught about God each and everyday of His ministry...No one knew and knows more about God than Jesus...Yet, we killed Him...And partly was because He was different to listen to and to learn from...
So Jesus is different...Jesus was different from us when He walked the earth and taught His Disciples and us...And He taught good things, He healed many, and He LOVED all, and He was then and still is the wisest...Yet we hung Him from a cross until He died, because He was different from others...It seems today as read the headlines that when people see other people that they view as being different, acting different, and are different -it still gets us killed...
If we are not careful differences can keep spreading us apart...And this spreading us apart can lead to despair...But this does not have to happen this way...They is Another Way...Jesus taught us that we can be better in loving God and loving our neighbors...We must be better in loving Jesus and better in learning from Him...
