Acts 4:13
The Disciples Were Ordinary Men
13 When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.
John 14:2-3
Jesus Would Go Back to Heaven and Create a Room for His Disciples
2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
Jesus never seemed to care for degrees or academia type degrees...When He went out recruiting His Twelve members He chose common, humble, ordinary men...He did not choose His Disciples because they were great at any specific thing or task...And in all Twelve, Jesus knew what He was getting...In one way of thinking, we might say the Twelve were much like us...God sometimes takes the ordinary and makes is extraordinary...Ordinary people can do extraordinary things, when they follow the Good Teacher...God often uses ordinary people to show us His Plan...When we think about these things and our efforts to be close to our Father and His Son, it is good to be ordinary...
Peter and John were called unschooled and just ordinary men...Yet, they were two Disciples of an original Twelve Disciples that got to meet, be with, and get to know Jesus...When Peter and John were on trial in front of the Sanhedrin, they were astonished and took note of this fact...What they took note of was the fact that these two ordinary men, had been with Jesus...What the Sanhedrin did not get was that the Disciples would view life completely different now...They could easily see we are not just on earth because of some random act and some chemical reaction that happened fifteen billion years ago...Life is a journey, yet it is much more than a journey...These two men, although ordinary and unschooled, would know, after meeting Jesus, that life is a grand miracle...A miracle from God...They learned this from Jesus...And there is more...They got to see Him again after His death...They positively knew that they would see Him again in heaven...
These men would become known around the world, because of Jesus...These men would go to heaven to a prepared place for them, by their Teacher...These common men would become Saints because they had been with Jesus...
