Hebrews 9:27-28
Destined to Die and Yet Live
27 Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, 28 so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.
Job 19:25-29
I Know My Redeemer Lives
25 I know that my redeemer lives,
and that in the end he will stand on the earth.
26 And after my skin has been destroyed,
yet in my flesh I will see God;
27 I myself will see him
with my own eyes—I, and not another.
How my heart yearns within me!
28 “If you say, ‘How we will hound him,
since the root of the trouble lies in him,’
29 you should fear the sword yourselves;
for wrath will bring punishment by the sword,
and then you will know that there is judgment.”
Acts 4:12
Salvation is Found Only in Jesus Christ
12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.
Acts 17:24-31
God Has Appointed Jesus as Our Judge
24 “The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands.25 And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else.26 From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. 27 God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. 28 ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’
29 “Therefore since we are God’s offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone—an image made by human design and skill. 30 In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent. 31 For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead.”
The Hebrew's author tells us that we die just once...And then after we die we face judgment...So we die and there is an afterlife in which we will be judged...Jesus is and will be our Judge...God will set a day when He will judge the world with justice by the Man He has appointed...He has given proof of this to everyone by raising Him from the dead...
Jesus was sacrificed for us only once to take away our sins...So Jesus, the Man, died just once -and yet He lives after His death...The believer, as Job said, knows our Redeemer lives...Jesus was the One and Only Sacrifice for our sins and our sinful nature...He alone takes away the sins of mankind...And our LORD will appear again, a second time in His Second Advent...And He will come not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to all those who faithfully wait and have waited for Him...Jesus name is Salvation...Salvation is found in no other name under heaven...
