Matthew 24:35
The Words of Jesus
35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
Acts 4:8-22
Peter and John Before the Sanhedrin
8Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them: "Rulers and elders of the people! 9If we are being called to account today for an act of kindness shown to a cripple and are asked how he was healed,10then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. 11He is
" 'the stone you builders rejected,
which has become the capstone.' 12Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."
13When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus. 14But since they could see the man who had been healed standing there with them, there was nothing they could say. 15So they ordered them to withdraw from the Sanhedrin and then conferred together. 16"What are we going to do with these men?" they asked. "Everybody living in Jerusalem knows they have done an outstanding miracle, and we cannot deny it. 17But to stop this thing from spreading any further among the people, we must warn these men to speak no longer to anyone in this name."
18Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. 19But Peter and John replied, "Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God's sight to obey you rather than God. 20For we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard."
21After further threats they let them go. They could not decide how to punish them, because all the people were praising God for what had happened. 22For the man who was miraculously healed was over forty years old.
Hebrews 12:1-3
Keeping the Faith
1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
I believe that Jesus is the Son of the Blessed One...I think He is the Son of God...God gave Him, this unique gift to speak, and no matter what the question was -He had and has the right answer...I believe when He walked the earth He had this aura, this charisma, the Spirit of God around Him and people wanted to hear Him...He always talked about God...No one ever in the history of man, had God more centered in their life than Jesus...Everyone did not agree with Him...It seems this was true, especially of the Pharisees, the teachers of the law, and many of the Sanhedrin...Yet, there was something about Him, that when He talked about God, people wanted to hear what He had to say...He seemed to make talking about God very easy, and people wanted to listen to what He was saying...There is something so innocent and yet at the same time so deep in everything He said...It seems He always spoke the right thing at the right time...
When you read the New Testament, especially the four gospels, His personality resonates not only in your mind, but in your soul...It is like when He speaks, you see and can believe that He is Truth...When you study His parables, it is like He is still living, and telling them to me and the one reading them...This is because He is alive, and His words will never pass away...He always spoke in context and He never spoke frivolously...Everything He said was the Truth...He lived for God alone, and wanted to teach each one of us about His Father...
Yet, today it seems when we want to talk about God or His Son, we are not as blessed with His speaking ability...When I am with people it is sometimes difficult for me to say that I love Jesus...It seems it is never the right moment for me to say, I follow His teachings and ways...I did not see Jesus or hear Him speak, but I regularly read His word...Yet, in public and around friends it is difficult for the right words and sometimes any words to come out about My Master...
Peter and John before the Sanhedrin, tell us that Salvation if found in no One else...But they also talk about spreading His word...The say in verse twenty that they just cannot help speaking about what they have seen and heard...They are at a time when those who followed and spoke about Jesus would be persecuted...Yet, these now brave men, were risking their lives to be talking about the Son of God...
I do not know why God just doesn't make it easy for everyone to talk about Him and His Son...He could you know...God could make faith easy and everyone a believer if He wanted to...But (it seems) His Love and His non-controlling attribute in love, wants to give us extreme free will...Free will makes faith hard...When things get hard for us, it is easy to drift from faith, and lose heart...God wants faith to be hard...He wants us to think of Him as hiding...He wants us to seek Him with our hearts and souls...But He wants us to find Him...
When faith gets doubtful, and is hard we are to fix our eyes on Jesus and His word, the pioneer and perfecter of faith...Because faith is hard, fixing our eyes on our LORD we will not grow weary and lose heart...
