Acts 10:39-43
Witnesses of Jesus
39 “We are witnesses of everything he did in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They killed him by hanging him on a cross, 40 but God raised him from the dead on the third day and caused him to be seen. 41 He was not seen by all the people, but by witnesses whom God had already chosen—by us who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. 42 He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one whom God appointed as judge of the living and the dead. 43 All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”
Matthew 28:16-20
The Great Commission
16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Jesus had actual eyewitnesses that He lives and died...These eyewitnesses are reasons to believe in Jesus...Peter says that he and the other Disciples are witnesses of Jesus' life and His death...He says that the Disciples and others saw Jesus after His death...So the Disciples were eyewitnesses of all Jesus did throughout His ministry....The saw Him die on the cross...They saw God bring Him back to life again three days after His death...And the Disciples ate and drank with Him...They saw how God showed Him to certain and different people after His death...And Jesus in His Great commission sent the Disciples to preach the Good News to the world and to testify that Jesus is ordained of God to be the Judge of all—living and dead...And all the prophets who had written about Him in the Old Testament, saying that He is the Messiah and everyone who believes in Him will have their sins forgiven through His name...
