Once a budget is approved, a Project ID will be issued by Finance via a designated vertical lead. You will need this code for gear rentals, to request rental cars/Northside vouchers, to request media, to book travel, to pay your crew and for your VPS and PPS entries (more on this in the Post-Production section). Project IDs follow a naming convention based on vertical and video number, for ex. VCESTORY-17EXXX.

You cannot spend money against a project until an ID has been issued.

U.S. Procedure

After your project is approved and you receive a Project ID, you will need to submit a Video Production Sheet (VPS) for approval on Insider. You will need a Vice email in order to log in and your access will vary on your position. If you need a log in, or have trouble logging in, reach out to Sergio Noriega and he will connect you to the right people.

PRO TIPS:

If you have trouble finding your Project ID or Show Name in the drop down menus, email the Project IDs team at projectids@vice.com (email does not work outside of U.S.)
Be sure to click on the floppy disk icon in each section to save. Once the VPS request has been filled out, click on the grey envelope icon on the top left to submit the request. An email alert will be sent to Sergio for approval.
To the right of the dot on the main VPS page is a 4-digit code. This is your VPS ID number and you will need to list this on your Ingest Form when you drop off your media for ingest onto the server after your shoot.

Your project will appear with a yellow dot if the request has been sent successfully. If the dot is grey, you either didn’t fill out all required sections or you forgot to submit the request for approval (make sure to click the grey envelope icon to send).
Once approved, your project will appear in the VPS list with a green dot next to it. This means your project is cleared to shoot. If a red dot appears next to it, it means your project has been denied. Email Sergio in this case.
How to create a new show

Start a Video Library entry on Insider, accessed by the Video hub. This is where you’ll upload assets like releases, stills, cue sheets and links to your video.
Click on the “+” icon to add a new entry, and fill in all the required prompts. You can continually add to the entry as your assets become finalized.
