INGEST FOR EDITORS PROCEDURE FOUND ON POST OFFLOADING MEDIA PAGE
- Before returning from the field with your media, make sure that you communicate to Veronica and Michael when you will be returning with media for ingest so Post can properly staff ingest personnel. If you're stopping by the office after normal work hours, make sure you give office manager Rosie McNeel a heads up so that your name can be put on the security list. Do not leave drives in Post unattended after hours.
- If you are shipping drives from your location in the field, make sure Veronica and Michael know. Provide tracking numbers and delivery time and make sure that you have someone on standby to actually physically bring these drives to the Post Pit. Media that is being delivered from a 3rd party still needs an accompanying Ingest Form (see below).
- If you are using our other domestic or international offices to send media, let Veronica and Michael know about this ahead of time.
- Footage will not be ingested without signed hard copy of Ingest Form. This form must filled out digitally, printed out, and emailed to nycpost@vice.com with Veronica and the Producer/AP on CC. Bring the hard copy down to the Post Pit along with your media (for directions to the Post Pit, reach out to Michael Skinner, Post Production Manager for Digital)
- Make sure to note on your Ingest Form if you've shot in 2k or 4k (Veronica should have already been made aware of this if this before you went out in the field if this is the case)
- Any other special information needs to be noted as well, eg. media needs to be returned to DP or rental house, or shooting outside normal frame rates and specs, multichannel audio, etc.
- When the Post Ingest Operator receives your footage, they will send an email confirming the media the received. Please respond with a confirmation that the media is correct.
- NOTE: It is the Producer/AP's responsibility to return all media to Katherine Swiatek & Veronica Mukhia once you have received the Footage Upload email from NYC Post. This way the media can be put back in circulation and will be ready for other team members to use. It is your responsibility to keep track of the media you borrow.
