Producer's Checklist

• Follow legal procedures
• Follow the Shooting Style Guide
• Follow R&C production standards and obtain all necessary releases
• All shoots must come back with supplemental video and stills for short form and socials, think Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, and that your full-length piece will get broken down to create short form content
• Think about consistency in the cameras and lenses you're using to ensure a seamless match for your footage
• Make sure you get plenty of B-roll of your characters and locations, don't just shoot slow-mo
• Be mindful of setting up an interview in front of artwork or photography we can’t clear, or with music or a television that is playing in the background
• If you plan to shoot in 4K or 2K, you must let Nick Savarese know in advance to ensure there is server space as we cannot host full 4k projects.

Think about what you need to bring back home in order to make this a story, whether that’s b-roll, specific scenes or interviews.

Write out your beat sheet

Your beat sheet is going to help you craft your story not only in the edit but also in the field.

Set out goals and have a loose guideline

Everything doesn’t go perfectly in the field- always have a plan B.

Why? Everything will change when you’re on the ground, but you must have an idea of what you want to get out of the story or character
