- Producers should be drafting a schedule that includes dev/ pre-production, production and post-production dates and submit this along with their budget in order to get project approval.
- DATES CHANGE- this is understood. HOWEVER- we need to be making a bigger effort to stick to the dates agreed upon once production is approved.
- Calendars need to include the following (refer to calendar template here for help):
- Pre-pro/Dev/Outreach days
- Shoot days
- Ingest/AE/Translation days
- Edit days
- Rough cut and Fine cut review days (PLEASE LEAVE 24 HR TURNAROUND FOR NOTES, TO BE SAFE)
- R&C/Legal/Archival reviews
- Color and Mix
- Delivery
- Air Date
As you move closer to the shoot make your schedule as detailed as possible. Are you returning to same hotel every night or expected to have minimal gear and move to a new location every other night? Know the driving times and approximate call times for each shoot day. Call bullshit if too many days are over ambitious or at least find out why.
Producers: Let everyone know what the weather and food forecast will be.
