October

October 29

We learned this week about the 5 rules when it comes to the letter र.

रू, रु

When the small “o” and long “oo” madras are emptied, they are never at the bottom of र. Rather on its side. Long “oo” has a look involved while, small “o” doesn’t not

क्र, श्र

When making a half (र) you make a line at the bottom of the letters you want to emply a short (र) sound to.

पर्वत

You only make this sign in the middle of 2 letters. This makes a small (र) sound

ट्र, ड्र

It gives a “tra” sound to the letter.

कृ, नृ

When wanting to make a “ri” sound on a letter you make a swoop at the bottom of the letter to emply the “ri” sound.

Homework:

Write 5 sentences in total, 1 sentence for each rule.

October 1

Today in class, the main topic was half letters and the different rules which are applicable to them. The teacher was showing the main differences when using half and full letters and he also showed the different categories under which half letters fall under.

Homework: There is a 15 ish minute video posted in the Hindi D WhatsApp group explaining half letters for students and it’s expected that they watch it before they come to class next week. It expands on what the students learnt in class today. Students also have to write 6 words of every र type. (6 for both types of half letters).
