This week we reviewed our presentation.
Each kid was assigned a specific part they are responsible for.
The kids have to finish their hw within 3 days and email it to Kruti Aunty.
For the presentation next week, they will need to be there 9:30 SHARP!
and have to be wearing traditional clothing. each child has to do one of Gandhi’s 11 vows, they are responsible for making a poster for the vow they were assigned.

This week in Gujarati we practice letters on the whiteboard.
Each student had an individualized assessment as a pre-test.
Homework:
Study your letters thoroughly as we have a test next class.
Next test is on letters and will be HARD. Make sure to study.

We also practiced on page 31 in their Gujarati books.

This week we learned new vocabulary words in class.
Homework:
The kids are expected to write down the 4 words learned in class with their definition and written english form as their homework.
Words should be written 5 times.
They are responsible for knowing the four words we learned by next class as next class they will have a mini quiz on the words!

Today in Gujarati class, everyone learned how to write their names in Gujarati as well as practiced reading aloud each others name in gujarati.
The level 2 kids learned the verb connecters such as "ee" "e" "i."
Dhruvi, Dhyan and Nikhil (level 4)practiced reading a short story.

Homework:
The homework for the level 2 kids is to read and rewrite a few sentences from the short story below.
The homework for the level 4 kids is to read and annotate their part of the story and be ready to share with each other in class next class!

Rewrite numbers 1-10 in gujarati as well as writing down the words practiced in class again!

Make a decorated diwali card with "શુભ દિવાળી" written on the inside!
Students were split into two groups based on familiarity with the Gujarati Alphabet;
Group 1: less familiarity, basic knowledge
Group 2: more familiarity, higher knowledge

First reviewed the Gujarati Alphabet and then learned the aa mantra depicted with the ા character
(Review : ક = Ka કા= Kaa)
These students were also able to write words like Mama(mother's brother), Kaka (father's brother), along with various other Gujarati words containing this matra.
Homework:
Review the Gujarati alphabet WITH pronunciations, practice is key! Students ideally should be reviewing every day.

Research one Gujarat related event, animal, historical event, tradition, historical person etc. (Be creative!!)

Met with parents to discuss curriculum, materials, rules, and attendance policies. Met with students to gauge Gujarati Language skills and introduce the language

Fill out 1 or 2 columns of each letter on the first page of the Gujarati Alphabet packet you received in class.
