Class & Homework -

March

March 1

In class we learned some new letters and continued learning the songs.

The students seem to know the song very well and are able to sing it from memory, so props to them for putting in the work! Keep working on it, especially the last passage, however we seem to be pretty well prepared.

Here are the words we learned: CLICK HERE. There is no quiz next week but still know these!

February

February 23

The weekly tests will be paused for the next three weeks as we prepare the kids to perform their song for the morning prayers assembly. This does not mean we will be pausing regular class entirely or that we don't expect students to continue putting in work. Please continue working hard! The students have done a great job so far in preparing for tests and studying, and it shows clearly in exam results.

The song we have chosen to perform is hum honge kamyab. The actual song goes through each verse twice, however for our performance we will only go through each verse once. We don't mind if students get printed copies of the lyrics for the performance, however we ask that it be memorized. 3 weeks is plenty of time and most of the lyrics are the same with only one or two word changes as well. Have fun learning the song! Make sure to know the meaning of what you are saying so that the song builds on your hindi knowledge. Lyrics can easily be found online and are also in the WhatsApp.

Apart from reciting the song, we also practiced a few words this week. This week was words with the letter sha (श). We went over all the sha page in the book. While we wont have a test next week, make sure to know these words for the planned final in may (More information will be released closer to the date). A list of these words can be found in the book as well as in the WhatsApp group (which all parents should be part of, if you aren't, contact us).

Just to summarize. No test, make sure you know the words, and practice the song.

February 2

Here is what we covered in class (CLICK HERE). Please look at these words and prepare for the test next week. Instead of having alternating weeks of tests and classes, we will now have a short, relatively easy, 15-20 minute test each class and followed by 45 minutes of learning. As usual, these tests will be sent in the WhatsApp group beforehand.

January

January 26

Everyone did really well on the test! The average was 17 and the high was a perfect score of 20. Congratulations! Keep practicing those words, soon we are going to start putting that vocabulary to use so make sure you know it!

January 19

Once again, due to the one week class, next week test schedule this upcoming Sunday will be a test. The speaking comes from Page 29 of the book, and the vocabulary for the writing comes from Page 25. For the speaking portion, please know what the questions on the page mean and how to answer them. As well as this, please make sure to know the information for the small paragraph in the box at the bottom of the page. Photos of said pages can be found in the WhatsApp group. If you are not yet a part of it, please let us know

January 12

Please continue studying the test and the vocab/phrases associated with the test. Even though we took the test on Sunday the whole idea is that a student studies, takes the test, and then works on what's wrong/further practice over the next week.

The Results for the test:

  • High: 29

  • Avg: 24.1

January 5

From now on, the structure of Hindi B will be alternating weeks of classes and tests. So this week was a class and next Sunday will be a test, etc.

In class we covered the names of various vegetables, however for the test students only have to know the ones on page 22

We covered a lot in class, however only page 17 from Paathmala and the vegetables on page 22 are needed to know. The singular/plural verbs with the male/female forms will be needed to know for the speaking portion

The photos are on the WhatsApp group. If you are not part of it, please let us know asap.

This is the test we are taking in class on 1/12: CLICK HERE
