Click here This is the story we have covered last few classes. The students needs to provide a verbal summary (a couple of minutes) via audio or video.
Next Sunday we will start another story from Hitopdesh. Since I am off for the next two weeks Sushmaji will cover for me.
January 21
Today in class we had the standard parent teacher conference. The teacher talked about what the students have learnt up until now and he made the students show this to the parents. Also, the parents were giving suggestions as to different things that could be implemented into class such as watching more video form content and having the parents have more one on one time with their child to ensure that they are practicing the given material. Another possible idea that could be seen in the future is storytelling where the teacher can break down the story to help students understand. There is no homework assigned today.
January 7
Each student was asked to discuss his/her winter break activity in Hindi.
We covered the Hitopdes story of the Hunter’s Trap (Baghelia ka Jaal). Each student was asked to read and explain.
Homework - Read the remainder of the story.
December
December 3
In Class:
1. First, the students worked on sentence structure. They were working on past and present tense
(yesterday, tomorrows etc...).

November
November 12
In Class:
The teacher started off by topic about conjunctions and propositions (in, but, over, and, or, under, then). With those conjunctions and propositions, several sentences were formed such as "I am in my house." and sentence chunks like "but, no one is inside.", which were translated into Hindi. The main focus of todays class was writing and being able to translate from English to Hindi. For the last part of class, students only spoke in Hindi.
Teachers Notes:
Practice the Hindi alphabet over and over again and learn how to connect letters appropriately to prepare for future classes.
Starting soon, conversations will be fully in Hindi, so students should be practicing with their
parents at home.
Memorize past and present verbs which were covered in the previous class.
लेकिन कोई में नहीं है।

Homework:
Know and practice all of the sentences that were practiced in class. (Refer to the picture above)
Practice speaking Hindi with your parents for 10-15 minutes Write 5 sentences about a hobby/anything you enjoy and describe it.
November 5
In Class:
The teacher was reviewing over past and present tense and the different ways they can be applied
in sentences. The teacher was encouraging the students to practice speaking Hindi in class to
strengthen their skills. The teacher was talking about different types of verbs and the different cases
in which they can be used (Doing a thing vs making someone do a thing). For the last 5 minutes of
class, the students could only talk in Hindi as it is a skill that the students heavily need to work on.
The teachers advice to the students is to speak slow and break down the sentence that they are
trying to say, rather than rushing in. This will help them to construct sentences and build the
foundation for students to start speaking well.
Homework:
1. Cover over past tense and practice it.
2. My mom makes me speak Hindi. (The students should attempt to write this sentence in Hindi
with their parents.)

In Class:
At the beginning of class, the students worked on practicing matras and integrating them into sentences correctly. The students also focused on tone in sentences and covered gender in sentences (sentences focusing around males, females, or both). The differences between aap/tum and the different ways to apply them in sentences was also expanded on today. Past and present tense was also worked on today and the students were shown different cases of each.
Homework:
Practice addressing different groups of people in sentences. This includes sentences concerning We/You/He/She/They/Them. The students are also expected to work on past and present these in sentences and should come to class next week with a good understanding of the various topics mentioned. The teacher expects the students to know how to say "I have a question" in Hindi as the students are expected to speak Hindi to their best ability in class.
Teachers Notes:
The students can refer to this image if they're struggling in their homework. It has examples of everything that the students should know for next week. Click here
