Class & Homework -

October

October 2

We had a great class this week! The students learned the first six letters in Gujarati, though we do not expect all students to have them memorized just yet. However, we do want them to familiarize themselves with the first three letters as stated in the homework below. We will continue to solidify the Gujarati letters through repetition over many classes. Furthermore, the students also used the book to trace the letters in order to form accurate and legible Gujarati letters as well as identify different words that started with that letter. After this, we transitioned into the speaking part of class. We had the students try to say some commonly used words and phrases in Gujarati. In the last part of class, we played a Pictionary-style game for some Gujarati words. Identifying and relating pictures to words is an important lingual skill to develop.
