Task 1 Read the following pages: Course Description, Assessment, and Bibliography of Parfor Anglophone Literature III - UESC 2013.1
Task 2 General Review of PARFOR - Anglophone Literature I and II.
Task 3 Go to The Road Not Taken. Do some research on Robert Frost. Read the poem. Be ready to share your answers to the question proposed, besides other questions and comments on the author's biography and works.
Task 5 Go to Postcolonial Anglophone Literature. Read Paul Brians's considerations on the term "Postcolonial Literature". Be ready to discuss the issue.
Task 6 Go to Postcolonial Anglophone Literature. Read The contemporary post-colonial novel in English, by Thomas Bonnici
Task 7 Read the information about Journal Writing. At least 3 times with one (or more) journal entry (ies) with at least 150 words. The first one will be written in class. [Credit 2; 5,0]

Task 8 Click here. Read about one of the black writers listed. Take notes and make comments in your journal. Be ready to share biographical and literary information about the author you choose: what are some of the main pieces of information about his/her life? What are his/her main works? What are his/her main themes?
Note: This task is preparation for part of Credit 1 [5,0; in March].

Task 4 Go to Dubliners - James Joyce. Everyone: read the short story "The boarding house". Let's split the reading of the other short stories in groups (or pairs). Be ready for discussion.
Task 8 Click here. Read about one of the black writers listed. Take notes and make comments in your journal. Be ready to share biographical and literary information about the author you choose: what are some of the main pieces of information about his/her life? What are his/her main works? What are his/her main themes?

Task 9 Open the attached file (at the bottom of this page) with Jamaica Kincaid's "On seeing England for the first time". Prepare to discuss it. Highlight excerpts to read out loud and comment on.
