July 2016 FINALS

Crash Test Drama 2016 Season One Finals - 18th July 2016

Monday night saw the Crash Test Drama Sydney Season One Finals played out on a lovely night. It was a packed house full of enthusiasm and joy as we watched the best eight plays throughout the season vie for the accolade of best play and win that coveted spot in Short+Sweet Sydney 2017! A wonderful night was had by all and we strongly encourage everyone to come along to Season Two and take part in the fun that we’re all having!

Our 8 fantastic plays were:

The Waiting Room, written by Sharlene Zeederberg and directed by Adrian Bitel. This funny play starred Graham Yates as Jasper, Dean Nicholson as Steve, Meili Bookluck as Sally and director Adrian as Bob.

George Brown Steps Out, written by Gerry Greenland and directed by Best Director winner Sonia Bible. It starred Best Actor winner Graham Yates as George and Rob White as Wally. This great play was very popular, not only coming in second in the audience vote but also winning the Judge’s vote for Best Play. You can see ‘George Brown Steps Out’ in Short+Sweet Sydney 2017!

The Greenroom, written by Don Lacey and directed by James Gallaway. It starred Dudley Levell as Tommy Tuesday, Michael Smith as Ian, and Grace Rein as Charlie. Don Lacey was awarded the Playwright’s Encouragement award for trying something different with this play.

The Secret Of Me, written by Sonal Moore and directed by Meili Bookluck. It starred our co-coordinator Rosemary Ghazi as Sarah and Isaac Owen as Mark. Meili was our Depot Drumstick award recipient for her debut as a director and for just being super nice!
