December 2019 FINALS

Season Two Finals saw the winners from the previous four rounds!

The show opened with "Immaculate Reception" by Judith Anna Duncan. Samuel Johnson directed a cast of Arthur Gallagher, Victoria Barkell who picked up Best Actress Runner Up, Pauline Gardner and Cris Bocchi.

"Nick Valentine in Beware the Red Gang" was up next. Chris Ireland wrote this play and Felix Carlyle directed. "Nick Valentine in Beware the Red Gang" had a cast of Stephanie Dellzeit, Aiden McKenzie, Victoria Barkell and Chris Ireland also taking a role.

Third was "The Circle" by Guy Davies. “The Circle” was directed by James Gallaway and had the following cast: Sam Buckley who picked up Best Actor Runner Up, William Baltyn who picked up Best Actor, Sue Marshall, Aiden McKenzie, Artie Gallagher and James Gallaway also taking on a role. “The Circle” was the recipient of the Best Play award. You can catch them on stage next year at Short+Sweet Sydney 2020.

Fourth was "Tinder Nightmares". Alyssa Gillgren wrote, Chris Ireland directed and Lorraine Towell and Chris Ireland both performed. “Tinder Nightmares” was the recipient of the Popular Vote Winner. You can catch them on stage next year at Short+Sweet Sydney 2020

Coming up next was "Love Tangents" by Dalia Janavicius. Dalia Janavicius directed Arthur Gallagher, Jessica Lal, Martina Donkers, Prateek Chatterjee.

Next was "A Thin Line Between Love and Tulips". Written by Miroslav Nedelikovic and directed by Ruby Mikolaitis who picked up Best Director. This play had a cats of Alan Long, Denise Wilkins and Ruby Mikolaitis also had a role.

Second last for the evening was "Unclaimed Baggage", a monologue written by Tom Peach and directed by Dana Lowe. Alice Furze picked up Best Actress for her role in this monologue.

Rounding up the evening was "There’s a Hole in my Pocket" written by Robert Ballinger and directed by Michal Weiss. This had a cast of Andrew Vial and Alice Furze.

The Results

Tonight’s show was judged by Michele Lansdown, who has been in the industry for many years, both on and off stage. She has a wealth of knowledge and was honoured to judge tonight.

Best Actor Runner Up: Sam Buckley

Best Actress: Alice Furze

Best Director: Ruby Mikolaitis

Best Play: The Circle
