Season Two Round One, August 8th 2016

A lovely but slightly chilly night welcomed us back to the Depot Theatre for Crash Test Drama Season Two Round One. As always, we had a great and fun night, it was good to see regular faces as well as new ones this round but we only just managed to fill the 18 roles available so we would love to see more of you come along and play with us!

Our six fabulous plays were:

Our First Time, written by Meili Bookluck and directed by Margaret Fitzgerald. It starred Karen Granger as Alice and David Thompson as Brad.

The Game, written by Karen Granger and directed by Ann Elbourne. It starred Best Actress Runner Up Clare Langsford as Sarah, Alan Long as Max and Davo Hardy as Daniel. This great play was voted Best Play by our judge. You can see it at the Crash Test Drama Season Two Finals on 12th December.

Outback Mountain, written by Pete Greenaway and directed by Suz Mawer. This lovely play starred Haroon Gaffar as Tom and Andrew Shaw as Dave. It came second place in the audience vote and Andrew won the Depot Drumstick award.

The One With The Monsters, written by Pete Malicki and directed by Rosemary Ghazi. This fun play starred Best Actor Runner Up Robbie Gadsbey as Wolfman, Peter Tregilgas as Wolfman2, Best Actor Nick Subjak as X-calibre69, and director Rosemary as Laetitia. Rosemary won Best Director for her efforts.

Heat Visions, written by Nick Subjak and directed by Pete Greenaway. This monologue starred Best Actress winner Alice Furze and won the audience’s vote for Best Play. You can see Heat Visions at the Crash Test Drama Season Two Finals in December.

Everybody Needs Good Neighbours, written by Margaret Fitzgerald and directed by Colleen Henry. It starred Rolenda T Malen as Ann, Dennis Lee as Mack, Kazi Hossain as Joe, Meili Bookluck as Nancy, director Colleen Henry as Rose and Pauline Gardner as Iris. Margaret Fitzgerald was awarded the Playwright’s Encouragement Award for her efforts.
