Meet May 18, 2015

After a blistering hot and dry winter, we're now enjoying a cool and breezy spring. Thus we gathered at the Clendenins but only inside. Jym had decided to try something new (for him), a Middle Eastern Menu. It created some anxiety for him, but everyone seemed to enjoy the end product.

The full menu is shown here. The menu has links to the various individual recipes.

The appetizers were enjoyed in the living room while the chef was stir-frying the lamb. Afterwards the pita chips left a nice array of crumbs on the rug.

Stan thought the babaganoush didn't taste too much of eggplant (which he doesn't like).

After the main course was consumed in the dining room, we moved back to the living room for dessert and coffee. Two espressos were actually consumed.

The wines were all purchased at K&L. To view the write-up on an individual wine, go to KLWines.com and type into the Search window the wine code shown in the menu after each wine. The Fiano di Avellino from southern Italy as well as the Dominio do Bibel "Lalama" were chosen to complement (not compete with) the spiciness of the food. By the way, K&L readily replaced the bad bottle of Fiano di Avellino. The new bottle (shared with friends while dining at Thomas Hill Organics in Paso Robles) was perfect!
