A Portuguese Dinner

Appetizers:

Cheeses - Manchego, Sao Jorge DOP, San Simon DOP

Sardines – Portuguese - in oil and spiced oil

The (Spanish) Manchego, a cheese made in both Portugal and Spain, was from Costco. The San Jorge is from northern Spain, and the San Simon is Portuguese, both from igourmet.com.

The sardines were Portuguese, purchased from Amazon.

Calo Verde

Portuguese kale, onion, garlic, and potato soup, with chorizo

Portuguese Salad

Peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, with cilantro, chili/garlic paste; red wine vinaigrette

Bacalhau a Bras

Portuguese salt cod, tomatoes, onions, garlic, shoestring potatoes, eggs, and olives

I used Pik-Nik Original Shoestring Potatoes, already cooked, from Piazza’s, couldn’t find appropriately thin frozen ones.
