Our first after-school Symphonic Band rehearsal is TUESDAY, 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. in the Band Room.
If you are in a band class at SCHS (period 2, 6, or 7), you are in SYMPHONIC BAND, and we have some after-school rehearsals in preparation for our upcoming Christmas concert! Students who miss rehearsal (unexcused) will receive a zero in the gradebook and will not be allowed to perform on the Christmas concert.
Can't attend the rehearsal? Contact Mr. Carter via email or the Band Hotline (call/text) 912-549-0262. Excused absences must be submitted by Monday for Tuesday's rehearsal.
Rehearsals are on the following dates:
Tuesday, November 11, 3:30 - 5:00 p.m.
Monday, November 17, 3:30 - 5:00 p.m.
Tuesday, December 2, 3:30 - 5:00 p.m.
Monday, December 8, 3:30 - 5:00 p.m.
Gospel Choir is open to all SCGMB members. Even if you missed last week, it's not too late to join! Just show up for rehearsal on Wednesday from 3:30 - 4:45 p.m.
We will host Glascock County for the first round of the playoffs on Friday.
If we win, we will host the second round next Friday, November 21.
If we win on November 21, we could host a 3rd round game on Nov. 28, or we may have to travel. We don't know yet. If it's a home game, we will have a pep band only in the stands for the game. If it is an away game, the band will not travel.

Our Christmas Concert is on Tuesday, December 9th at 7:00 p.m. in the SCHS Auditorium. Report time for SCHS students is 6:22 p.m. (This is a combined concert with the SCMS Band.)
ATTIRE FOR THE CONCERT: ALL BLACK, LONG BLACK. Remember, "all" means "all." Mostly black is not the same as all black. Please plan now so you will have the right thing to wear at the concert.
Questions? Contact Mr. Carter via email or the Band Hotline (call/text) 912-549-0262.
Each week, I recommend a piece of band music I think you will enjoy. Once again we have a piece that was originally written for symphony orchestra, but is well-suited for the concert band. The piece is the March from Symphonic Metamorphosis of Themes by Carl Maria von Weber, and was a tribute to von Weber by its composer, Paul Hindemith. The march is the 4th and final movement.
We typically have three parades each year:
Saturday, December 13: Christmas Parade (evening)
Saturday, January 17: MLK Parade (mid-morning)
Saturday, April 4: Livestock Parade (mid-morning)
