The first half of the show is DONE. You can download and practice your part below. Note that the whole show is in one file for each instrument, but only measures 1-102 are ready so far. (That's why you have a block of 112 measures of rest at the end of your page.) I'm still working on the rest. So, download your part and go practice!
WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND THE RHYTHM: At least make sure you understand the right notes. Check the key signature and make sure you know the right fingerings. If you are confident with all the notes, then teaching you the rhythms will be a lot easier.
The LEADERSHIP TEAM (anyone who has a title) will meet as follows in July. This is during guard/drum week. Color Guard and Percussion leadership team members will attend their rehearsals and jump in with the leadership team as you are able.
TUESDAY, July 9
8 a.m. - noon: Work session (library, music folders, field, etc.)
6 - 9 p.m.: Leadership Cookout (details TBA)
WEDNESDAY, July 10, 8 a.m. - noon: Work session
Students may stay until 5 p.m. Bring a sack lunch if you will be at school all day.
THURSDAY, July 11
8 a.m. - noon: Work session (library, music folders, field, etc.)
5:30 - 7:30 p.m.: Orientation (leadership team members should plan to be at both sessions, but your parents only need to come to one)
FRIDAY, July 12, 8 a.m. - noon: Work session
Students may stay until 5 p.m. Bring a sack lunch if you will be at school all day.
We will have two orientation sessions on Thursday, July 11th:
Session 1 at 5:30 p.m. for all rookies, all 9th graders, and all seniors.
Session 2 at 6:30 p.m. for students in grades 10 and 11 who are not rookies.
If it is more convenient for you to attend the other session rather than the one for which you are scheduled, please feel free to do so. Both sessions are the same, although the first session will be geared a little more towards first-year members.
Both sessions will take place at SCHS, starting in the Auditorium.
At orientation, we will go over expectations for band students and families, talk through important events on the band calendar, and take up band fee payments. You will also have the opportunity to purchase shoes and SCGMB merch, such as hoodies, parent shirts, grey UA member shirt, our NEW ball cap, and extra show shirts. We will also size students for their uniform.
Our summer rehearsal camp dates are on the calendar!
July 8-12: Percussion and Color Guard, 8:00a - 5:00p. Bring a sack lunch.
July 11: Orientation, 5:30 OR 6:30 (details below) starting in the AUDITORIUM.
July 15-19: Full Band, 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. (except Wednesday, 8a - 5p) - Bring a sack lunch.
July 22-24: Full Band, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Bring a sack lunch.
July 25, 29, and 30: Full Band, 6:00 - 8:30 p.m.
August 1: SCHS Freshman Orientation; SCGMB Family and Friends Preview Show will be held at the practice field immediately following orientation. Upperclassmen should report at 7:15 p.m.
Picture Day is July 23rd during the first part of our rehearsal day. Details, including order forms, will be sent home during band camp.
Band Camp is just a few weeks away! Be sure you are spending some time outside in the heat so you will be ready for the first day of band camp.

If you did not pay your $40 deposit in May, you do not currently have a spot in the show. Please contact Mr. Carter immediately if you paid and cannot march, or if you didn't pay and want to march.
The balance of your band fee ($60) can be paid at our orientation meeting on July 11 (see above).
