STUDENTS: JOIN THE MARCHING BAND GOOGLE CLASSROOM PAGE if you haven’t already! Be sure you are logged in to your Screven email/google account. The join code is hg47y6. (Be sure all the letters are lower-case.) This is the first place you should look if you realize you have lost your music!
are now past due. See Mr. Carter if you are not sure how much you owe or if you need to make arrangements.
We will have indoor music rehearsals on two Mondays in August: August 12 and August 19, 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. This is required for all marching band members.
Q: Can I wear blue jeans for marching band outdoor rehearsals after school?
A: NO. Marching Band is an athletic activity, and blue jeans are not appropriate wear.
Q: What SHOULD I wear for marching band?
A: A comfortable t-shirt/top, shorts, and athletic shoes with socks. Shoulders and belly buttons must be covered. You’ll be most comfortable with a hat and sunglasses.
Q: What do I need to bring to marching band rehearsal?
A: Always have your dot sheet (in a plastic sleeve, with a lanyard around your neck), a pencil, and your instrument/equipment. Most people like to bring WATER, sunscreen, and bug spray.
Q: What do I do if I need to miss a rehearsal?
A: Contact Mr. Carter. The best way to do that is by email at hank.carter@screven.k12.ga.us. (Guard members may contact Mr. von Waldner instead.) Do NOT ask another student to tell us.
Q: What is our rehearsal schedule? Is the band playing at the football game? What time do I need to be at school? Etc. etc.?
A: All of this (and much, much more!) can be found on the band's Google Calendar. Scroll up to see the calendar; scroll down to find out how you can link it to your own Google stuff.
Q: Do you have an extra copy of the Performer Contract?
A: Of course! Click here: 2019 SCHS Band Performer Contract
