Wire Sculpture

For this project we had to use wire and pliers to make hooks which firmly connect together. At first we made a link of 10 one in. pieces of wire which had to stand up. It seemed hard at first but the more I practiced the easier it became. Then we practiced by making boxes like it is shown in the bottom right corner above. Eventually we began the final wire project. I decided to do my project of a book that says "Do one thing that inspires you" with a flower in the corner. I chose this book because what is written inside is something that I truly enjoy reading. In the actual copy of the book, not the wire project, the inside has little inspiring tasks that you do everyday. I think it's important to have something that inspires you in life. Then I added a flower to the corner to represent nature. I love everything about the wild. I wish that more people in this world tried to not waste and litter because it affects the wild. One of my favorite things to do is go on hikes and take beautiful pictures, like of flowers, so I chose a flower. My favorite part about this project is how strong and stable the hook connections were. I noticed that the more hooks I attached the easier it became. One thing I could improve on is changing the words by using a different sized wire. This is because the wire that I used for the words is larger so I didn't have enough room to fit the original book title on it which was, "Do One Thing Everyday That Inspires You." When I was trying to add the pages to the book I had to make sure the number of pages was balanced. The amount of pages on one edge of the book had to look like the amount of pages that were on the other edges of the book. Overall, this was a fun project and by practicing first I became a lot more skilled when It came to using the wire and fish hook connections.
