For this project we had to choose a card that had a prompt on it and create that drawing. For this project I chose to create a piano with no black keys. During the process of drawing I at first wanted to create a regular grand piano and instead of black keys I was going to make them colorful and leave the white keys white. But then I wanted to add more color so I made only the white keys but I made those colorful. Eventually I added vines to give my piano more of a nature setting. I also added a blue background to make it seem more like a nature/ natural setting. I did this because I love music and nature. The materials I used were colored pencils and graphite.
My favorite part about this project is how your focus goes straight to the colorful keys and thats exactly what I was going for. I wish I would've spent more time making the background more colorful. But I think if the background was more colorful then it would take the focus off of the piano and I do not want that. I also really like the vines in my artwork because it gives more of a background and setting and balances out my art work.
One thing I wish I could fix is taking more time on the keys to add more detail and shadows to make it more realistic. But I actually really like how it came out. I also wish I would of used a different material next time or at least more of a variety of materials. I wish I would've make the black on the piano darker but thats okay because I really like how it came out. Also, I was inspired by my love for music, as I've mentioned, so I made this art project from my heart. Overall, this was a very fun project and I like how my project evolved.
