Reflection

Written Reflection:

This year has been a fabulous year. My overall experience with art has been incredible. I have learned so much and learned that I have a true passion for art. Some processes that I enjoyed were when grinding my paper in order to make your art match up. I also enjoyed learning how to use and mix different paint colors during some of our projects. Throughout this year I learned a lot about different values which I also really enjoyed.

At times it was a struggle when it came to painting because I had to take home paint and if I ran out of paint then there would be issues, but in the end going through all of the struggles makes it all worth it. Bringing home any materials was a struggle because you can’t always predict how much of a material you need in order to finish. Also deciding on what to draw or paint is a struggle in the beginning. But eventually ideas just naturally come to you and everything flows together.

Some of my most favorite products are my Mixed Media, Surrealist Collage, and Scratchboard. I worked very hard on these pieces and put all of my time and effort into these. All of the hard work payed off because the final products came out amazing. Some things that prove that I met the standards, from what I’ve learned, are when theres a great composition, the main focus of the project is touching at least three sides of the piece. Another example is having solid colors. And my final example is when you have gridded your paper and everything is matched in the squares properly.

Art relates to my life in many ways. There is art all around when you take the time to look at all the details. I want to continue to learn more about art and create more art. I've learned about and created so much art this year it gives me hope that I can continue to do that every year. Art class has become an experience I want to remember forever. I have learned so much and loved every single moment of it.
