Designs & Space

The dark to light project was a project where you have to make one square really dark and as the colors faded the last square on the other side will appear very light. You will achieve this by making a lot of tiny lines for the dark with no specific pattern. And on the other side you will do less lines to make it appear light. I worked very hard on this dark to light project and squinted my eyes to see if the lines blend and go dark to light. For my next project I did a negative space dinosaur and giraffe. In this drawing there is shading around the animals. Just shading that alone took a very long. Then I went in to fill in the space and I added designs which also took a while. In these designs, there were mainly swirls but I also added each season to show the different environments the animals live in. This is one of my other favorites because I took my time on it. Theres no specific pattern for this I just made sure there was a balance in designs. For the third piece of art I made a negative space leaf drawing. In this I used a smaller piece of paper with real leaves on them and took a larger piece of paper looking back and forth from paper to paper and had to draw the negative space. I later filled the background in with color and left the leaves white. I made sure to use colors that are the colors of leaves. I used no specific pattern I just made it so it looked like what leaves would look like. For the negative space hand drawing I drew the negative space again. But this time I didn't add designs, shapes, or patterns. I just filled around the hand with my pencil. Overall I worked very hard on these projects and used different skills to make sure things were done correctly. But it was difficult to make the value strip dark to light completely, make the colors solid in the leaf drawing using colored pencil, and for the other two project it doesn't have a strong composition, but it was challenging to draw the animals.
