So since I was a little behind on my artwork due to me being very sick for a few days I had to combine the tea set and artist inspired projects. I did this by meeting the requirements for this project, which was to have a tea pot and two tea cups that relate to each other, and I meet the requirements for the artist inspired project which was to combine two artists. I made the designs nature relate because not only do I love nature but I also love the simple things and life and that was my combination from the artist inspired project. My tea pot creation, which I'm going to use for gardening, was made from clay coils and slabs. I first made the tea pots small and dainty. I used a slab and made it the shape of a cup and then I added a handle. I did this twice in order to make two tea cups. For the tea pot is used a slab and many, many, many coils. I used the coiling technique and eventually I got the shape I desired. I think made a small lip at the top opening of the tea pot and added the lid based on the shape. Then for the handle I twisted it to make it have the texture of a vine and then I made the spout.

My artwork wasn't arranged in any particular way just the way I wanted it to be in the end. I used made it the way my ideas just flowed out. At the end I decided that it would be best to make the spout more opened that way I could use it for my garden and it would be more efficient rather then a tiny spout. I placed small flowers on the inside of the tea cups so when you're done drinking you'll see a cute flower that matches the flowers on the tea pot. My project evolved because at first I was going to make the tea pot a simple shape but an advanced design. But I changed my mind and I turned it into an advanced shape with a lot of nature details but with a more simple white base and small green vines with purple flowers. I ended up loving how my artwork came out even more that my original design and I especially love the vine texture on the tea pot handle. The original design is shown above.

The meaning of my artwork really is to portray the beauty and nature but also the simplicity. The simplicity part was achieved by having a simple white background that way the nature features could stand out more. This artwork relates to my life because I love the simple things and I absolutely love the environment. So being able to make an art piece that I can use daily that involves these things is special to me. I'm proudest of how hard I worked on this set because I got so much work done in class. It was a struggle at first to get the shape I wanted but eventually it worked out and I'm happy with the results. I am also very excited to use my tea pot for watering my garden because now I can use what I made in class to benefit the environment and my beautiful garden. And not only will I be benefiting the environment but I will also be portraying the beauty of landscapes and nature in my work while I continue to let the beauties in nature thrive.
