Ceramics 1

Of all the in class projects I am most proud of the multiple pinch pot project. For this project I made a bee sitting on a flower. This project is my favorite project because I took the most time on this project so it would come out the way I wanted it to. This particular project I thoroughly planned out how I wanted the bee to be placed onto the flower. My favorite part of this project is how well the bumble bee is placed because I thought the bee would fall off but it is perfect. I learned from this project that making multiple pots at once can save you a lot of time. I also learned that pinch pots can be created into so many different unique, beautiful, shapes. From taking this class it's changed the way I think of ceramics because now I see all artwork in our lives as work that is unique and has it's own story behind it. I've started to look deeper into all artwork. I've started to appreciate all artwork more. This is because I realized that all artwork has meaning behind them or even multiple meanings that relate to the artist. I look around everyday and see even more art around me than I did before taking ceramics. I've fallen even more in love with art. Some recommendations that I have for the ways that class could be improved is making sure people do artist statements before the next project. This will help me be more organized on what I need to add. It would also help because then all the things I learned from that project would be fresh in my brain. Another recommendation is to make sure everyone fully understands all the tricks when it comes to making your art. I had to have the directions mentioned to me more than once because I had to visually understand what to do first. Overall, I have learned a lot in ceramics and have been more open minded about art.
