Mixed Media Drawing

For this drawing we had to draw something using the following materials: charcoal, graphite (optional), and ink. I used charcoal and ink to try and get a full range of value. My favorite part of this art work is the trees because the trees hold the most detail. One thing I could improve on is adding the same amount of ink and charcoal to keep it balanced. As you can see I used the gel pen in the darker parts of the drawing and used hatching and cross hatching marks. I also used stippling using the gel pen. The only thing I wish was fixed was the moon to be a brighter white shade. In this piece of art there is a window and trees in the background with the moon peaking through shining so very bright. I had a reference image which I used to figure out where everything is placed in this piece. Overall this is one of my favorite pieces of work because of how realistic it looks. I decided to draw this window because it is the window I always look out of at my Nana's house.
