This assignment was to create an art piece that stuck with my concentration, which is plants, so I created flowers. The subject of my creation is flowers sitting on blue pebbles which can either represent water or the sky. My work was made by first trying to dig through the glass containers to find the correct shapes and colors for my flowers. I also got a small glass base so I could glue all of my smaller glass pieces on top of it. I then went in with smaller, blue pebble shaped glass for the background but I didn't want it to take over the attention of the flowers so I spread them out. I glued all of these pieces of glass using Elmer's glue and a tiny paintbrush. I also chose a different blue for the background so the blue didn't overpower the three flowers in this piece. For the second piece I made it is a lot simpler than my first. I wanted to use the shiny, holographic looking glass and made flowers and then I went in and added tiny clear blue and purple flowers. I glued these pieces on using Elmer's glue again.

I chose to create this specific artwork because I love how my first flower glass piece turned out so I wanted to see what different types of flowers I could create. It’s arranged by having flowers of different sizes placed randomly around the clear glass bases. How my project evolved was I kept changing the colors, shapes, and sizes of glass pieces I used for both of these art pieces. The blue flowers I stuck with, but for the second piece I wanted to create red flowers but I changed my mind to the clear holographic and light blue glass. I revised my artwork by making sure my art looked balanced and there wasn't any empty opened space in the background of each piece. I also wanted the flowers to be the center of attention and have people's eyes drawn to them so I made sure to not make the backgrounds too complicated.

The meaning behind my artwork is simply just flowers and showing how creative and beautiful they can be. How my artwork relates to my life is because I love nature so I chose a concentration, plants, that relates to this. So I created flowers because I love the look of the flowers when they are fully melted glass pieces. What I'm most proud of in my artwork is my patience when it came to putting all the little details in with the tiny pieces of glass, I love how simple yet somewhat details these pieces look. I struggled with not gluing the glass to my finger when trying to place it on the glass base. But I overcome these struggles by using a paintbrush to guide the glass pieces to the location I originally wanted them to be placed. My artwork could be stronger if I did add more detail to my second piece, but I do really love how simple these pieces look with the amount of detail they currently have.
