Kari 'Schaefer' Clem

Kari was a stand-out three sport letter winner for the Lady Bulldogs earning 15 varsity letters during her stellar career. Highlighting Kari’s career was cross country where she led her team to a State Title in 2000 and was the Individual State Champion as a sophomore in 2001. She was also runner-up as a junior and placed third as a senior. In gymnastics, Kari helped her team win five State Titles while earning three All-Tournament Team honors and 11 top-15 finishes, including two third-place All-Around finishes and her runner-up floor routine as a senior. In track & field, Kari earned eight top-eight finishes, including a 2001 runner-up finish in the 3,200-meters. She also has top-10 in three individual events and three relays on the MHS Honor Roll. Kari was named MVP of track & field in 2001, gymnastics in 2004, and cross country all four high school years. She was a two-time MHS Most Valuable Female Athlete, Elite 15 Athlete in 2004, National Honor Society member, and homecoming royalty. Kari received athletic and academic honors during her running career at SDSU, and later at DSU.
