Cal Mathison

Mathison was a student at the Ramona Grade School where he played basketball on the 7th- and 8th-grade teams in 1940. Mathison attended MHS from 1941-45. He was involved in both football and basketball. Mathison was a letterwinner in football during his junior and senior years, and lettered in basketball his sophomore, junior and senior years. Mathison played the center position on the 1944 State B basketball runner-up team and on the 1945 State B championship basketball team. After high school, Mathison continued his football and basketball careers, lettering all four years while attending General Beadle College. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1951.
