Linda Collignon

Linda’s journey started in the small town of Rutland, and then continued onto Dakota State College where she graduated in 1978. Linda then began teaching Science at the Madison Middle School, the rest is quit a ride. She was the cheerleading advisor, leading her team to the ‘Spirit of Six’ Award at the 1982 State Basketball Tournament, she also coached Middle School track and field along with assisting her husband John, in cross country for two years. In 1990 Linda took the assistant gymnastic job, and then in 1992 took over the head job. While the head gymnastics coach her teams and individuals did the following; one 4th place, one 3rd place, seven straight class ‘A’ titles, 128 individual State place winners, 20 individual State Champions! During this time period Linda was SDCA Gymnastics Coach of the Year – 3 times, National Region 5 Coach of the Year, and National Coach of the Year Finalist! Linda has also been named DSU Coach of the Year along with being inducted into the Dakota State University Hall of Fame!
