1995 Volleyball

What started off as a 4-0 start to the year, and high expectations turned south during the middle portion of the year. Then came Districts and the Lady Bulldogs were off and running, going 3-0 in Districts and defeating all three teams 2-0. Two nights later, it was the best of three matches with Sioux Valley in the Region Finals, Lady Dogs winning the first match 2-0, then losing the second match 13-15 in the 3rd game to force a third match, of course they pulled out the third match with a THRILLING 16-14 third game win and now off to Watertown and the State ‘A’ Tournament. Winning their first 3 matches at State as the number 8 seed, including knocking off the #1 seed and making the finals and beating Bennett Co. (the #1 seed again-double elimination) 15-6 in the 3rd game to win the Schools first State Volleyball Championship. Terrific way to end a season and adds to the saying; “it’s not how you start, but how you FINISH”. The Lady Dogs were coached by Coach of the Year, Joyce Farrell and she was assisted by Andy Jansen, Orlyn Larson, and Charmaine Anderson.
