Tom Osterberg

For forty years, Tom Osterberg graced the halls, fields, courts, mats, and tracks of Madison High School. You name it, and Tom probably coached it, officiated it, played it, and yes, he was even the assistant wrestling coach for four years. He received his 25, 30, and 40 year coaching awards from the SDHSAA as well as SDHSAA Assistant Football Coach of the year in 1994 and the All-Sports Assistant Coach of the Year in 2007. Some of Tom’s coaching highlights are; the 1992 undefeated football regular season and 2-time semi-finalist in football, the 1981 Boys Basketball team taking 3rd place, and his 3 championships, 2 runner-ups, 4 third place, and 6 fourth place finishes in track & field, not to mention the numerous individual state place winners in the long and triple jumps of which he coached.
