Earl Hilton

A prominent figure in the mid to late 50’s, not only as a coach, but as an administrator as well. Was on the sidelines when the Bulldogs took 2nd in the ESD football standings, losing only one game, to Yankton by the score of 7 to 6! Coached some of Madison’s greatest athletes in Track & Field leading them to top 5 finishes in 1959 and 1960! One of Earl’s biggest accomplishments was convincing the District to hire Cal Mathison from the neighboring Franklin School District.
