Dick Ericsson

I’m not sure there has been a student/athlete that got more out of High School than Dick. Throughout his four years, he participated in football, cross country, tennis, basketball, track & field, student council (Sr. class President), National Honor Society, drama, and just about anything else that existed at MHS. After participating in numerous sports, Dick settled into tennis and basketball where he lettered 3-times in each including being a three year starter in basketball that culminated with a 2nd team All-State selection and 5th leading scorer in ESD as a junior, then named 1st team All-State as a senior and 2nd leading scorer in the ESD. Dick returned to Madison as a lawyer and continued his love for Madison and the Bulldogs. He not only contributed financially to various programs, he was also a fixture at the finish line for years during Madison held track & field meets. After graduating, Dick played basketball at USD for 1 ½ years before leaving to pursue his law school dreams and to top it off, he was a MCSD board member for 7 ½ years and 2 years as president.
