Public Displays of Affection (PDA)

Because so many cultures and age groups coexist at JIS, it is important that students demonstrate an attitude and behavior regarding interpersonal relationships that are acceptable to people of various cultural and ethnic backgrounds. The school recognizes that genuine feelings of affection may exist between students; however, public displays of such affection on campus are not acceptable. Students should refrain from inappropriate behavior such as intimate and prolonged embraces, kissing, and similar actions offensive to the general public on campus, on school transportation, and at school events.

Inappropriate Sexual or Intimate Behavior:

If students engage in intimate or sexual behavior in private locations on campus e.g. bathrooms, mandatory meetings will be arranged with counselors and parents will be informed. If this type of behavior is repeated, it may lead to suspension or expulsion from school.

Students are required to provide their name and/or ID number when requested. Failure to do so, or providing false information when requested, will be dealt with according to policies related to disobedience and providing false information.
