The Graduation Ceremony is believed to be a celebration primarily for students and their families. Therefore the High School gives priority to graduates’ families when making decisions about allocation of Graduation tickets.
This campus is the desired site for our Graduation Ceremonies because:
It is our ‘home’
The venue has better ambience for this type of ceremony than large hotels, conference centers etc.
JIS is within easier proximal access to most of our families
JIS Facilities are able to prepare for, and conduct the event, with local knowledge and resources.
Rehearsals are more easily conducted
Ticket requests by parents will be made through the completion of a Google Form and the request data will be collected.
Based on seating limitations and request data, we will issue tickets following, in order, these priorities :
Parents of the graduating student.
Siblings of the graduating student
Grandparents of the graduating student
Relatives of the family who are coming from overseas
Guests of the family
*Please note that if initial ticket requests exceed the available seating, a maximum quota per family will be applied in order to be as fair, and objective, as possible. This may vary from year to year.
If, after all the requests from families have been satisfied and spare seats remain, the following order of priority will be applied:
Ushers who have helped out placing guests in their seats. Lottery if needed.
Departing HS Faculty who wish to attend - in order from years of service. Lottery if needed.
Grade 11 parents (maximum of two) who will lead the Senior Parents Team the following year.
Spouse of the Head of School
Spouse or Guest(s) of the Chair of the Board of Trustees
Any other requests on a case-by-case basis
