Creativity, Activity & Service (CAS) is an important cornerstone of the High School experience for all our students from grades 9 to 12. It reflects the holistic nature of our program and has direct links with our own Core Documents, namely:
From our School Mission;
Learning to be best for the world.
From our School Vision:
We will inspire joyful, rigorous learning and foster wellness as a pioneering, collaborative, inclusive community.
From our Compass;
...apply new concepts, knowledge and skills to the “real world” through opportunities involving service learning, engagement with Indonesia, organizations and schools around the world.
In the High School, all students from grades 9-12 will be involved in CAS experiences as an integral component of the High School experience and thus it is a crucial Graduation requirement. It will be comprised of two components, both of which need to be completed by any student in the High School;
Grade 9/10 JISCAS
Either Grade 11/12 JISCAS or IBCAS
Please note; If a student enrols in Grade 9 (second semester), 10, 11 or 12, only the possible component(s) remaining need to be completed for graduation.
As JISCAS is a requirement for Graduation, at the end of each semester, the counselors will check ManageBac for each of their students to ensure that they are on track -this is completed with support from the GLC and SLA teachers.

Jakarta Intercultural School (JIS) values creating experiences that instill reflection, relating, resilience, and resourcefulness. One of the ways JIS supports its high school students in developing these qualities is by organizing an annual LEAD week. LEAD stands for Leadership, Exploration, Adventure, and Discovery. In an effort to encourage global citizenship and international mindedness, students connect with Indonesia and the world at large by engaging with cultures, history, and the environment. Students have the opportunity to participate in various activities that challenge them to grow as individuals and as members of our community. Some of the activities include cultural immersion, service learning, outdoor education, and creative expression. Through LEAD week, JIS High School students enhance their academic, social, and personal skills while having fun and making memories that will last them a lifetime.
