School closures can occur for a variety of reasons, and often at short notice (e.g. flooding, demonstrations, terrorist threat, health emergencies.). In the event of a aschool closure the expectation is that quality learning for students is maintained.
If closure occurs the guidelines are as follows:
Our aim with online learning:
Teachers and students continue their teaching/learning of the curriculum content to the best of their ability through virtual support, realistic time-bound tasks, and high-quality feedback.
In practice, this means the following:
Online classes will be synchronous and on zoom
Assignments will be posted on Google Classroom as normal
We will follow our normal face to face daily schedule when online
Teachers have the discretion to end classes early after 45 mins have elapsed in order to reduce screen time.
Faculty zoom links are in Google Calendar and here.
Attendance will be taken for all virtual lessons as with face to face.
Zoom lessons will be recorded and posted on the Google Classroom.
Student Responsibilities and Expectations
Students are expected:
Lessons
To attend all virtual synchronized classes according to the students schedule/divisional schedule--Attendance will be taken. *If students are unwell or for any other reason unable to participate in the day’s classes, parents should notify the school, as they would any regular school absence.
