WELCOME BACK!
We have returned to nursery after all the festivities to lots of snow! We have started our new term by exploring the winter weather, sledging, snowball fights and building snowmen!
❄️Nursery is 'snow- much fun!'❄️
The children have come back full of smiles and creativity.
With the darker mornings and evenings, the children have developed an interest in the sky, what's up there and how do we get there!
First we found out about Planet Earth, where we live and so many countries on our planet.
We used a map to find the countries and where we want to visit.
First Planet Earth . . .
. . . then The Solar System!

Watch out for the Planet Alignment starting on 21st January!
We found out planets can be different temperatures so we used our thermometer to find out temperatures inside . . .
. . . and outside nursery!
Some planets are freezing and so were we for a week! Great learning opportunities about ice and how to play in it!
Learning time! Lets make our own ice!
PXL_20250115_131745822~2.mp4Some of us also froze some toys in our own ice and then used our frozen creations to plat ice hockey match up!! We matched up all the colours to each other, worked as a team with our friends and discovered lots about the ice as it changed during play.....so much frosty fun!

We were really lucky to have a visit from Lachlan (our friend who moved to Norway) just before the Christmas holidays, we were so pleased to see him!
We were able to tell Lachlan all of the things we have learned about his country and his nursery and Lachlan even spoke some Norwegian to us.
Lachlan found his favourite colour of pen....green!

We have had lots of fun this week playing with the babies and the role play area..... we have been dressing and caring for them, feeding them, ironing their clothes and blankets and even trying on some of their clothes ourselves 😄
We have been learning a lot about friendships, how to cooperate, share and work together..... This is a very important aspect of the childrens learning at nursery and they have embraced this very well.
