SAFE, HAPPY, LEARNING, RESPECTFUL
How did we get to the end of term so quick?
We have had a very busy term and the last two weeks have past so fast. P5/6 were involved in organising the sponsored cycle for all P3-7's. Everyone had amazing fun during the event and we were so super proud of how we all worked together and raised so much money. We remembered to take photos of the event and some of them are here.
Alongside the sponsored cycle we completed some cycle skills, to finish our topic on Famous Highlanders. We really enjoyed finding out about Danny MacAskill and how he manages the stunts on his bike. We now appreciate and value the saying 'never give up, you can achieve what you set your mind too'. Even after breaking bones Danny persevered to achieve some of his stunts.
This term we have also been making our own playdough, we had to measure the ingredients and follow the instructions. We have some very funny photos, however, we didn't take pictures of the playdough that stuck to our hands and tables after a group forgot to add salt to their mixture!!
Term 1 - Friday 24th September 2021
We have been very busy over the last few weeks. We are continuing to learn about famous Highlanders. We have learnt lots of things about Danny MacAskill including watching one of his impressive adventures on 'The Ridge' in the Isle of Skye. We attempted to draw and recreate an image of the ridge.
We have also been talking about our learning. We have discussed what has been going well this term and what we feel the next steps will be to achieve the things have not gone so well. We created our learning stars to remind us of our targets.
I also took a photo of our story map, we have created a map for a newspaper article. We have created actions for it, made it into a drama sketch and now we are going to create toolkits to support us write our own article.
Everyone has worked so hard over the last few weeks. We just don't stop.
We are really looking forward to the cycle skills session and the sponsored cycle next Wednesday, I just hope I remember to take some photos!
Hello! We have enjoyed our first two weeks as a new class, everyone has settled well and we are looking forward to learning together. Please find attached a welcome letter which includes lots of important information for our class.
Here we are enjoying some team challenges, the children have worked so hard over the last two weeks.
One of the challenges was to create the longest paper chain from one sheet of paper. They had to communicate, discussing designs, use their fine motor skills to cut strips and include everyone in the task. They were all awesome!
