After a hard week of working, Primary 7 enjoyed Christmas jumper day and a Christmas movie afternoon. We watched Home Alone together with our festive jumpers and hats, all while raising money for MFR Cash for Kids!
Not long until our holidays now!
In Primary Seven we did Haikus in our writing this week.
Haikus are Japanese poems with seventeen syllables in total, written in three lines with the syllable structure five, seven, and five. It follows one particular theme and the theme does not change.
Here are some examples of the autumn Haikus we wrote this week:
Rich and colourful,
Floating on the breath of fall,
Just take in the sight.
Kids fighting with leaves,
Running around having fun,
Wrapped up in warm clothes.
It is getting cold,
Rain is falling all around,
The ground is so wet.
In P.E this week on Thursday we played capture the flag. This is a team game based on strategy, trying to capture the teams flags without getting caught or losing your own flag!
The winning team in the end was Green, so good work to everybody there!
We all had fun in the end and that's really all we can say.
In P7 we created Halloween artwork. We used the different shades of blue to make a night sky effect with a bright autumn moon, and then used paper to draw and fold some 3D bats for that spooky effect.
On the 5th of November we made artwork for Bonfire Night. First we got copper coloured paper for the wood then orange, red and yellow tissue paper for the bonfire flames. We also used oil pastels to create the bright fireworks.
Our topic this term has been comparing Scotland to France. As part of that we were learning about some French landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower. We made mini 3D Eiffel Towers. First we cut the template out and then stuck some of the folds together, creating the 3D towers.
Welcome to the new Holm School Blog. Please find the Primary 7 organiser for Term 2.
Primary 7 will share learning and photos of their learning regularly with you.
Have a lovely weekend!
