SAFE, HAPPY, LEARNING, RESPECTFUL
VIKINGS
This week we were lucky enough to borrow a props box to support our Vikings Topic.
We were able to try on some of the clothes and jewellery that would have been worn by the Viking people and play some of the board games too.
We were surprised by the ironing board and iron - we guessed lots of different ideas/uses for the interesting objects, but none of us were correct!
We have been working hard to learn a popular children's tale to help us with our writing. We worked together to build our own houses to try and keep the big bad wolf from blowing them down!
We had houses made from lego, paper, cushions, blankets, chairs, books, pencil cases and lots of other creative materials!
Can you guess which tale we are learning?
P3/4 went outside to look for sticks. We used these sticks to write our names in Viking runes.
'We used sticks because Viking runes are super straight and we though sticks were too.' Ruby
'Runes are the ancient Viking language we are learning about as part of our topic.' Zoe
'I liked making the runes because we got a chance to go outside and get some fresh air.' Everly
