SAFE, HAPPY, LEARNING, RESPECTFUL
Thursday saw another adventure! Welcoming our families back to Sports Day! A day full of energy and fun! The children all took part enthusiastically at the potted sports activities in the glorious morning sunshine! Then, it was great to see so many family members come along to cheer and support the children at their races in the afternoon. Great team work everybody!
Well, what a busy week we have had! On Wednesday according to some class members we had "the best awesome day ever." There was great excitement about getting to go on a huge bus / coach together with P2/1, the squeals of delight as the bus pulled away were so lovely to hear! We learned loads from the terrific staff at Inverness Botanic gardens. We had a tour of the garden, tropical house and cactus house, planted our own wildflower seeds to take home and had a ball playing and exploring in the mazes, dens, jungles paths and wildflowers in the GROW gardens. After this our tummies were rumbling, so off we went to Bellfield for a picnic and play at the park. The children were all so considerate of each other and there was so much smiling and laughing all afternoon. Big well done to all involved in this trip!
We've had a super busy start to the term, with lots of playing and discovering.
We are enjoying learning all about living things and have been exploring planting and growing. We loved our trip to the woods on Friday and had so much fun investigating length. We went exploring to find long, short and tall sticks and plants. We used our hands, feet, fingers and toes to measure how long they were. Lots of us were comparing sizes of sticks and put them into size order. There was super teamwork to move and lift things. By the end, we had a huge collection! Our longest was 35 of our feet long! We hope you enjoy looking at our photos from the start of the term.
Fun Forest Friday, number 1!
